At Recycled Mats, we are overjoyed to announce a new chapter in our Give Back to Community program. We have officially become guardians for Martha, a remarkable chimpanzee at The Jane Goodall Institute South Africa Chimp Eden. This milestone embodies our commitment to wildlife conservation and our ongoing efforts to inspire eco-consciousness.
We are deeply honoured to receive the Guardian Certificate from the Jane Goodall Institute, symbolising our dedication to Martha’s care and well-being. This partnership represents a shared vision to ensure that rescued chimpanzees like Martha have a safe, nurturing environment and the love they so richly deserve.
The generous support provided through this initiative helps safeguard their future, providing everything from nutritious meals and medical care to enrichment activities that allow them to thrive. It’s a small step with a big impact, ensuring these magnificent creatures continue to live happy, fulfilling lives.
Chimpanzees face unprecedented threats, from deforestation and habitat loss to illegal wildlife trade. By sponsoring Martha, we’re not only contributing to her care but also supporting the broader mission of the Jane Goodall Institute to protect chimpanzees and their habitats.
This act of guardianship allows us to take a tangible step in the fight for wildlife conservation, aligning with our core values of Happiness, Contribution, and Integrity.
Through initiatives like these, Recycled Mats connects our eco-conscious products with meaningful causes that extend beyond our business. Whether it’s collaborating with Indigenous artists or supporting organisations like the Jane Goodall Institute, we strive to create joy and connection through everything we do.
We also encourage our community to join us in making an impact. Every small action, whether it's supporting conservation efforts or choosing sustainable products, contributes to a brighter future for our planet and its wildlife.
To the Jane Goodall Institute and everyone working tirelessly at Chimp Eden—thank you for the incredible work you do to protect these beautiful animals. And to Martha, we are proud to play a small part in your journey.
Together, let’s continue creating a better, kinder world for all.
At Recycled Mats, sustainability and community have always been at the heart of what we do. Recently, our founders, JJ and Nu, had the extraordinary opportunity to visit The Jane Goodall Institute South Africa Chimp Eden during a family vacation. Witnessing Dr Jane Goodall’s legacy and the profound impact of her 60+ years of conservation work was an unforgettable experience.
Inspired by this visit, we are incredibly proud to announce that Recycled Mats has become a 12-month guardian for Martha, one of the chimpanzees at Chimp Eden, through the Institute’s sponsorship program. This marks a meaningful milestone in our Give Back to Community initiative and a deeply personal connection to the vital cause of wildlife conservation.
During their time at Chimp Eden, JJ and Nu were moved by the dedication of the Jane Goodall team and the sanctuary’s mission. Seeing the love, care, and effort that goes into creating a safe space for rescued chimpanzees was both humbling and inspiring.
As lifelong admirers of Dr Goodall’s work, standing on the grounds where her vision comes to life was a privilege that left a lasting impression. “It’s incredible to witness first-hand how much difference one person’s passion and persistence can make for our planet and its creatures,” JJ shared.
Sponsoring Martha represents more than just a commitment to one chimpanzee—it’s a contribution to a global effort to protect and rehabilitate these magnificent animals. Chimpanzees like Martha have faced unimaginable challenges, from habitat destruction to illegal wildlife trade. By supporting Chimp Eden, we are helping ensure they receive the care, love, and attention they deserve.
The Guardian Certificate we received from the Jane Goodall Institute is a tangible reminder of this partnership and a testament to the power of working together to create a better world.
Dr Jane Goodall has devoted her life to understanding and protecting chimpanzees and the ecosystems they inhabit. To see her vision realised through Chimp Eden’s dedicated team was truly inspiring. At Recycled Mats, we are proud to play a small role in supporting this incredible legacy, aligning with our values of Contribution, Happiness, and Integrity.
This sponsorship reflects our belief that every step, no matter how small, can make a difference. It’s an extension of the eco-conscious choices we champion every day through our recycled products and sustainability initiatives.
We hope our partnership with the Jane Goodall Institute inspires others to take action—whether by supporting conservation efforts, choosing eco-friendly products, or simply spreading awareness.
To the team at Chimp Eden, thank you for welcoming us and sharing your incredible work. To Martha, we are proud to stand beside you as your guardians. And to Dr Jane Goodall, thank you for showing the world what it means to lead with compassion and purpose.
Let’s continue to work together to create a brighter future for all living beings.
